MANAGEMENT 

Doug Newnham  - Managing Director 

Doug has been with the company throughout his working life.  He is fully experienced in all aspects of Civil Engineering construction throughout Central Victoria. His work is highly regarded by government, semi-government and private clients and by their consulting engineers. His advice is frequently sought on site conditions at project design stage.  Doug is a hands-on Principal in daily contact with staff on the job.  He has the management ability that comes with the capacity to excel personally at every task on the project. Doug is active in civic life throughout the region having been a local government Councillor, Shire President and a Regional Chairman and life member of Lions International. 

David Mitchell – Director/Construction Manager 

 

David came to the firm in 1994 with many years experience in both design and construction having held senior positions with the Shires of Romsey, Walgett in N.S.W. and Kilmore. David holds an Associate Diploma of Management and is responsible for all aspects of the job on site. He works closely with clients, consulting engineers, other contractors, sub-contractors and authorities to ensure a smooth construction program. David has been responsible for the preparation of the company Quality Assurance Manual and Quality Procedures. David is proud of the fact that during his time with Newearth Constructions, all projects have been completed within the contract requirements and to the satisfaction of our clients.

David Bird – I.M.S. Manager

David commenced employment with the company in May 2003 and is responsible for the company’s integrated management system which includes quality assurance, occupational health and safety and environmental management. David trained at the City and Guilds of London (Building technology) and completed his training in New Zealand. David is a Registered Engineering Associate (N.Z.) and has worked in the building and construction industry for many years.

Cameron Newnham - Project Manager

Cameron represents the third generation of Newnham family involvement with Newearth Constructions. He rejoined the company in 1998 after gaining extensive experience with larger national companies as a leading hand. He takes a key role in continuing the commitment and expertise that is a major source of pride for the company. Cameron manages several projects simultaneously and co-ordinates the works and liaises with authorities, clients and consultants. Cameron prides himself on completing works promptly whilst meeting the required standard. He takes a keen interest in all aspects of the business.

Darren Ryan - Foreman

Newearth Constructions has 38 members of staff. The works teams are without equal in regional Victoria. Cameron and Darren are each top operators in their field and lead a skilled work force with a hands-on approach. The average length of service with the company is 8 years - a unique record in an industry where the workforce is generally mobile. The key to this achievement has been the company's determination to foster pride in personal ability and in the quality of the final result and completed project. The company has a profit-sharing bonus system in place to ensure that our staff's efforts are properly rewarded. The company has a policy of promoting within to ensure the ongoing high standards, with two of our employees now keenly participating in on site management.
